Serie-Parallel Weerstand Calculator
Calculate resistance for series-parallel circuits
Inhoudsopgave
Hoe te Gebruiken
- Enter series resistors as comma-separated values (e.g., 100, 200, 300)
- Enter parallel resistors as comma-separated values
- Click calculate to see total resistance
- Series resistors add directly, parallel resistors use 1/Rtotal = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + ...
Series-Parallel Circuits
Series-parallel circuits combine both series and parallel resistor connections. To calculate total resistance, first calculate the series portion, then the parallel portion, and add them together.
Series resistors are in a single path where current flows through each resistor sequentially. Parallel resistors provide multiple paths for current flow.
Calculation Method
- Series: Rtotal = R1 + R2 + R3 + ...
- Parallel: 1/Rtotal = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3 + ...
- Combined: Total = Series Total + Parallel Total
Applications
- Complex circuit design
- Multi-stage filters
- Voltage divider networks
- Current limiting circuits
- LED array designs
- Audio crossover networks
Veelgestelde vragen
- How do I calculate series-parallel resistance?
- First, calculate the total resistance of all series resistors by adding them. Then calculate the total resistance of all parallel resistors using the reciprocal formula. Finally, add the series total and parallel total together.
- Can I have multiple series and parallel sections?
- This calculator handles one series section and one parallel section. For more complex networks with multiple series-parallel combinations, break down the circuit into sections and calculate step by step.
- What's the difference between series and parallel connection?
- Series resistors are connected end-to-end in a single path, and their resistances add directly. Parallel resistors are connected across the same two points, providing multiple current paths, and their combined resistance is always less than the smallest resistor.
